Stay curious. Someone once said “we travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.” Genius, profound, insightful; this spirit inspires me. The act of traveling, whether in the back woods or to far flung destinations, is a restorative experience. Seeing — and being — in the moment or in my magical dreamscape is exhilarating as I explore, reach out and connect beyond my comfort zone. While I navigate this life, through adventure or certainty, my compassion for humanity, our respectful differences, and our common home becomes more focused, better understood. These observations, interactions and perspectives simultaneously stretch and contain me. Cultural prompts such as craft, color, landscape, language and living with purpose are the welcomed seeds that bloom in my garden of gratitude and joy. As a visual enthusiast and designer, my desire to see the world and listen to others’ stories is boundless. Acorns, art, allies — each and all — speak to me. I am never without a pocket camera; always shooting photographs, collecting treasures, sharing truths. There is much to discover, learn and celebrate. In the poignant words of Susan Sontag “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.”
